MSBTE Scholarship 2023-24 Procedure

Scholarships will be awarded for the academic year 2023-24 to deserving and needy students enrolled in institutes affiliated with the Maharashtra Board of Technical Education. These institutes offer engineering diploma courses and pharmacy diploma courses that are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education. The eligibility criteria, application process, and schedule for application and disbursement of the scholarship are provided below.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MSBTE SCHOLARSHIP

The applicant must be a newly enrolled student in the First Year/Semester of an AICTE approved Diploma course in Engineering and Technology at an MSBTE affiliated Institute in Maharashtra in the academic year 2023-24 (For Fresh Candidates).
The applicant must have achieved a minimum of 70% marks in their entry qualification, which is the SSC for Engineering & Technology courses and the HSC for Pharmacy courses. The overall percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be taken into account for students admitted in the first year.
The applicant should not be in receipt of any other Scholarship or Free ship during the academic year 2023-24 i.e. the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
The income limit for becoming eligible for a scholarship shall be a maximum of 5 Lakh per annum.
If the earning member has expired and the student is in need of the scholarship, he or she shall be considered eligible at any stage of his/her diploma education so that the student should not drop out for want of tuition fees.
The Scholarship will be continued for the next year only if the awardee submits the application and has successfully passed the end examination with a First Class distinction in both semesters.
The amount of Scholarship per year is Rs.7000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand only)
Candidates who are studying in their second or third year can apply for the scholarship, provided they meet the eligibility criteria of the first year. The scholarship will be given based on the merit of the applicants in their respective disciplines and their results in the first and second year diploma examinations. The number of scholarships for the second and third year should not exceed the maximum number of scholarships given in the first year, which is 952.
Candidates admitted to Autonomous Polytechnics within Maharashtra and whose equivalence is confirmed by MSBTE, Mumbai is also eligible to apply.
The total number of scholarships will be determined annually according to the intake capacity of MSBTE-affiliated courses for that specific year. The number of scholarships per course will be proportional to 6 for every 1000 students enrolled. However, the number of scholarships based on the State Merit List will be capped at 952 each year. (1st, 2nd, 3rd) or academic year.

PROCEDURE FOR MSBTE SCHOLARSHIP 2023-24

Eligible students shall fill in the information online, upload scanned documents whichever is required as given below, confirm the application, and submit to the Principal of their institute with an attested copy of each of

i. Qualification Sheet for Entrance Examination (SSC for all and HSC for Pharma only)

ii. Parents' income certificate issued by the relevant government authorities for the financial year 2022-23.

Statement of the grade achieved in the first-year or second-year diploma course (whichever is relevant).

The document required is a photocopy of the first page of the passbook for a savings account in a Nationalized Bank. The photocopy must clearly display the Name of the Account holder, Account Number, IFSC Code of the branch, and other relevant details. It is important to ensure that the correct account number and IFSC Code are mentioned. The responsibility of entering the correct information lies with the student. The account holder must be one of the parents or the student themselves.
The institute that is concerned should verify all the details provided by the student in the application. Once the information is confirmed to be correct, the institute is required to confirm the application, obtain printed reports of all eligible students, and submit them to the respective RBTE with the necessary declaration, signed by the Principal and stamped with the institute seal.
RBTE will verify the document by constituting a three-member committee headed by the Principal of a polytechnic and assisted by a person, not below the rank of lecturer and confirm the same online.
MSBTE will sort out the data of eligible candidates and display the provisional list of candidates to whom scholarship shall be awarded on its website msbte.org.in. The maximum number of scholarships to be awarded shall be as per the total sanctioned intake of each course.
If there are any queries or doubts, they should be raised within a specific time frame after the provisional list is displayed on the website. The institute must verify if the concerned student has been awarded any other scholarship, and if so, they should inform MSBTE promptly.
The final list of eligible students to whom scholarships shall be awarded will be displayed on www.msbte.org.in MSBTE will award the scholarships to candidates by transferring the scholarship amount to the bank accounts as informed by the candidate.
